The 25th January happens to be the day of “Tyāgarāja -arādhanā” for the year 2019. On this day, scores of musicians assemble in Thiruvaiyaru (a village in Tamilnadu), to pay their homage to the saintly, legendary musician Tyāgarāja, at his samādhi and sing the Pañca-ratna-kriti in a chorus. Keeping this in mind, we decided to have a one hour vocal Carnatic music concert following the book release function, during which some of the well-known compositions of Saint Tyāgarāja will be musically rendered with a succinct summary of what each song conveys in English.
