Institute Diamond Jubilee Workshop in Linguistics – Minimalism

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Bombay welcomes you to the Institute Diamond Jubilee Workshop in Linguistics – Minimalism.
Please find the details below:
Abstract:
The workshop looks at the basis for the Minimalist theory in grammar, proceeding from a chronological account of the advent of the programme to a deeper understanding in terms of the biolinguistic perspective on grammar. In doing so, the workshop hopes to acquaint participants to some of the basic operations required to attempt a “minimalist” account of syntactic phenomena in general and of some constructions in Indian languages in particular.
