Intra-IIT Quiz competition on the Indian Constitution

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is hosting an intra-IIT quiz competition on the Indian Constitution. It is being held in memory of the late Mr Harakhchand Savla and is sponsored by the IITB Alumni Association from its Decennial Fund. The quiz seeks to promote awareness among students about India's constitution and its constitutional history, as well as generate further interest in the on-going Institute Lecture series on the Indian Constitution.
Details of the Quiz are as follows:
Date and Timings: 2nd October 2016
Team Composition:
Team of 2 Student from any department (cross-department teams are allowed), except the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Department
Format:
There will be a written elimination round at 2 PM (comprising of 30 questions), to qualify six teams for the final round. The main event i.e, the final round will be conducted at 4 PM. Rounds in the finals will cover the following topics broadly: history of the constitution, constitutional text and amendments, Supreme Court judgments, constitutional authorities and institutions, current affairs linked to constitutional matters, etc. There will be a special round based on the IITB Alumni Constitution. The unanswered questions from all the rounds will be passed on to the audience.

*Quiz Master*: Mr Akash Rebello, Advocate Bombay High Court
*Prizes*: Cash prizes of Rs 10000 for the winning team and Rs 7000 for the runner up team. Each of the other teams reaching the finals will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1500, along with certificates for each participant.
