Indian Philosophy can be approached in four distinct ways. The first method involves textual analysis, the second focuses on comparative philosophy, the third utilizes Indian philosophical concepts to address issues in Western Philosophy, and the fourth introduces new dimensions to Indian Philosophy. Each method holds its significance (Shaw J L, 2016, p. 1).

This workshop aims to delve into the nuances of Indian philosophical thought, particularly focusing on the theory of perception and its relevance in contemporary Western philosophy. Among the invited speakers, Prof. J L Shaw (Victoria University, New Zealand) will deliver the inaugural address on Gettier, Post-Gettier problems of perception, and Goldman's problem. Prof. Pradeep Gokhale (SPPU) will throw light on Buddhism in the context of Pragmatism. The other speakers are outstanding scholars well trained in the subject in the traditional gurukulam style. They will discuss the Nyāya conception of pratyakṣa based on the Nyāya-sūtra of Gautama and the different layers of commentary on it. Hence, this workshop would be one of its kind and promises to provide a platform for insightful discussions led by distinguished scholars in the field.
