Abstract:
Singles Studies is an emerging interdisciplinary field of enquiry around the world. Dr Chowkhani has been a proponent of it in India, teaching Singles Studies for the first time in the country since January 2020. The talk will include an overview of the discipline of Singles Studies, some key concepts in Singles Studies, and the future of Singles Studies in India. Drawing from her recent monograph on masculinities and adolescent sexualities, Dr Chowkhani will also speak about her forthcoming project on single men in India.
