About the event:

It is rarely that we connect the dots between corporate crime, Panama Papers, Chennai Floods and the Bhopal Carbide disaster. They tend to be perceived as accidents-aberrations and as individual, isolated events. Theexhibition will showcase 15 illustrations that the artist-activist has done for a book that she has authored. The talk will draw on her research and will discuss the painting and the stories that she has collected overthe years.

About the Artist-Speaker:

Kokila Bhattacharya is a freelance illustrator and social activist from Bhopal who has engaged closely with the infamous Carbide disaster. She is associated with the Remember Bhopal Museum which now acts as a guardianfor the information, memoirs and narratives of the survivors. Kokila Bhattacharya co-founded the Citizens Action Network and was the CEO for ANSH Happiness Society, both of them being youth organizations.
