The Cell for Indian Sciences and Technology in Sanskrit (CISTS) at IIT Bombay, established in 2002, primarily serves as a unique center dedicated to promote high-quality research in the vast scientific literature in Sanskrit. It perseveres to bring to fore India's rich scientific heritage by way of offering courses as well as training scholars to pursue serious research in various scientific disciplines. CISTS also aims at creating a relevant technological ecosystem that aids the process of collection, preservation and digitization of books, articles and manuscripts pertaining to ancient scientific literature and their dissemination in various forms.
